I like Herta starting P25, Scott McClaughlin P26, Grosgen P9, Marco Andretti P23, Alexander Rossi P20, Juan Pablo Montoya P30. It is a very long race and crashes up front make room for the tail enders to get up there for the last 50 miles. Anything can happen and usually does, making it always highly entertaining for the whole 500 miles.
POST RACE EDIT:
Herta, because he wrecked his fast car in final practice, he raced his untried spare. It had never turned a lap at the speedway and was complete garbage . You could hear it in his voice "This thing is really nervous". He was black flagged for going to slow. Herta is at the very pointy end of Indy Cars. Bad day in Indiana. Ended up 30th.
McGlaughlin hauled ass and cut through the field up to 15th and spun out in a weird, wind related off and out.Claimed 20th Pay Check.
Grosjean looked good and solid until he wadded his ride early , claimed 31st Prize Money.
Marco Andretti actually led the race for a number of laps which was great to see. Andretti's out front is an American tradition. From the lead to 22nd position, tough day, but a good day, he survived the onslaught.
Rossi, brilliant as usual. Always a contender, as any past winner always is. A Fine Fifth Place.
Montoya, classic race by a very wiley champion. From 30th to 11 and a good shot at the win depending on what happened. Always a Champ ! Hats of the winner Ericsson, Pablo got my vote for second best drive.
