George Brough's personal SS100 Alpine Grand Sport goes on the block today. It has to be one of the most significant Motorbikes in history. I hope it goes for huge bucks and blows all records out of the water. Ralph Lauren will most likely end up with it. Which means it will be ridden and shown.
HP-2122 must have been George's personal number plate because here it is at Brooklands in 1920, on a 1000 cc Flat Head. The factory test rider, Watson Bourne looks satisfied after a high speed run at the High Banked Bowl. George looking dapper as always.
The SS 100 Alpine Grand Sport. George Brough's personal mount.
A Brough Brooklands Special.
George stands next to a happy customer who knows he's riding the baddest Superbike of it's day.
