Flat Tracking has lots of incredible history, made up of colorful characters, intriguing politics and arch rivalries. One of the most colorful in my book was George Roeder. A quiet guy who raced hard for twenty five years and came so very close to winning the #1 plate twice. After retiring, he came back and was a fixture on the circuit as he supported his two sons and their careers in the GNC. He's gone but I will not forget the hunched over, hobbling around, beaming faced, George Roeder.
