Ascot 1965

Typical close racing at Ascot in the mid 60's. Triumph 500s, Goldies and Har Davs battle it out. This is mid pack action and the dirt clods are flying. Racers would put cardboard under their leathers, chest, arms and from the knee down to help protect themselves from the high speed roost of mud and rocks.
The Full Face Helmet came out of this desire to protect yourself from the pummeling. You see one of the first Bell Full Face helmets here mixed in with face shields and padded face masks which where around for decades.
