Eddie was famous for his spectacular wheelies. My most memorable Eddie Wheelie was at the Del mar Mile. Right before the main kicked off, the announcer yells "Everybody! Look Down to Turn Four !" and here comes two Triumphs,Eddie and his stuntman buddy, doing these high speed wheelies down the entire front straight, no helmets, with their super long hair blowing in the breeze at what looked like 100mph. It was shocking and the crowd was silent and then in unison, the 18,000 Flat Track Fans stood up and cheered wildly. It was quite a moment.
