Alex Zanardi was a truely driven individual. He came to the USA from F1 and immediately started to dominate in CART Indy Cars, where he won the title in 1997 1nd 1998. He lost both legs in a horrifying wreck when CART Raced in Europe. A truely wrong place wrong time scenerio. It did not stop Alex. He reinvented himself in Europe and was very successful in Touring Cars, racing in cars with special controls. He won a Italian Touring Car Championship in 2005. He switched to Hand Powered Bicycle racing where he once again dominated and won in Olympic and World Competitions. Unfortunately he had a very serious accident racing these bikes which took him 18 months to recover.
