Simca Aronda
In 1973 when I was a young teenager, my girlfriend and I went on a three month European adventure. We arrived in London and enjoyed the city before taking the train north to Northants for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone ( Californian Peter Revson had his first F1 Win, which made us really proud ). We got there early and ran into some track fireman whom we camped with during the whole weekend and got incredible access to the track. While we were there, we learned that travelers sold their cars at the port in Antwerp, Belgium. When we got there, there was a lot of choice. I ended up buying a nice old Simca Alondra for $125. It was a comfortable, warm old car and served us well over our trip. We ended up giving it to a sixteen old kid, who worked at a country gas station just outside Paris. A master cylinder leak happened on our second to last day when we were almost to the airport for our trip home to Portland, OR. This Custom Coupe was at this years GNRS, Pomona.
