French Mercedes worked some magic to get on lead lap and into third on the last lap. Some K1 Kart Racing by the two leaders let third place through for the win. This moved Rossi's BMW up the order to finish third.
Blocking and bashing sent these two off line and the French Merc pounced to the win, after 10 attempts at the race.
Kangaroos have been a huge problem at Bathurst and this year was bad. The Mustang got taken out when it hit a big roo while at top speed down the conrod Straight. Driver shocked, car destroyed and retired.
Overall the race suffered from wild racing and poor driving on the narrow but super fast track. The kangaroo problem is unacceptable and happens in the dark hours of the race. Something has to be done.
Merc collected a small roo and got away with minimal damage.
BMW Art Cat hit a Roo on the opening lap !. Came back after 12 hours to be leading on the last lap only to block and get bashed and lose a number of places but did finish.
