1926 Austin Seven. From the family Album.
When my brother Greg was 14, he had a passion for Austin Sevens. After a long search he found one in pieces in an old car horders back yard. The engine was in a couple of wooden boxes in a dark shed and a six inch diameter, fifteen foot tall tree, sprouted right in the middle the car. Our dad looked at the box of parts and said yes ,it's all there, we will take it. Greg's goal was to have it all ready to go when he got his Drivers Licence the day he turned sixteen. Dad built the motor and we all worked on the rest.
He met the timeline and it was a fun old bomb to get around Adelaide, South Australia. The Austin Seven was Britians answer to the Model T Ford. The Austin ran great for two years as a daily driver and was then sold for Greg's next must have car, a 1961 Ford Anglia, lowered with widened steel wheels and a Lukey muffler. Hot Stuff !
