How to Fix AFT SuperTwins Racing. The Dodge Bros. knows.

With all the consternation about Formula FTR 750 Indian racing, ruining Flat Track, the fix has been looking us square in the eye. Encourage the XR 750 to compete again and bring back the Harley faithful to the stands. Every H.D.Dealership in America would help push the Fan Support Program and fill the parking lots and stands with the Orange and Black fanatics. The Dodge Bros. proved the XR is competitive and they ran up front everytime they raced. If Lady Luck would have shined on them just a little bit, they would have won one for sure, possibly two. But they were pleased when their oldest rider in the field and XR 750 Expert, Sammy Halbert got them on the podium. And that was a carburetted and restricted ex-national Championship ( Brad Baker) bike from a decade ago. There are lots of really good XRs out there and plenty of young talented riders who would love the opportunity. Sammy only wanted to run small tracks and not mix it up on the big tracks, not because of the bikes but rather he is concerned with his well being. The big tracks are a high speed brawl and Sammy wants to keep getting older. Let them run un-restricted or FI. Sammy and the Dodge Bros were the most exciting thing to happen in Flat track for ages and were easily the crowd favorite every time. Excitement and bigger fields are the name of the game for growing our sport. At this moment, we need a quick fix and this would be it. It sure is nice to have KTM, Royal Enfield and Yamaha investing in Flat Track but it is not enough. The goal is to get young folks in the stands and lots of young couples ride new Harleys. And they dont want to have to root for a back of the pack XG750R that makes'em look bad. The Old Dog racing against the yipping puppies is something the Harley crowd would love. Long Live the XR-750 and Flat Track Racing.
