Jim and his traveling compardre, Cal Rayborn both from the way south side of San Diego.
Jim and Cal lived to race in Chicago and the Mid West in the summer time. Fueling their adventure with winnings from all the local races. Sante Fe Short Track was the epicenter of dirt track on the other side of the country and Jim would shutter his business in San Diego, to compete in the MWest racing season.

Lots of good times at SDFTA Perris Short Track. Jim and Tom won Four Classic Brakeless Championships. Tom rode Jimmy's Harley Sprints, the same ones Jim raced from the early 70s up until Tom inherited the ride.
