Jimmy Phillips won the 1949 West Coast Championship at Del Mar. Dec 2019 they celebrated with a Del Mar Short Track Race. Jimmy was a So Cal legend with his Motorcycle business accomplishments and his spectacular racing career on Triumphs. Ed Kretz on his Indian Sport Scout was Jimmy's main rival and it must have been something to see those two go at it.
