Truly the end of an era with the news of Ron Wood passing.
Ron was a first class gentleman with a warm and friendly aire that he shared with his many, many fans in our Flat Track community. For a man who had accomplished so much in the sport he loved, he seemed always to be calm, collected and considerate. He was an innovator and created unique, beautiful racing machines. Throughout all these long years, he gave us thrills aplenty and a hero to root for. When we attended the California rounds of the GNC and AFT, we were always anxious to see who would be riding the Wood entry and then, along with everyone else in the stands, willing them on to success. Ron Wood was loved and adored and our many condolences to his family and his legion of fans who won't find his old Aerostar van and his Red Racers and quietly smiling Ron in his shorts and straw hat. Nothing stays the same, unfortunately. We are really going to miss him.
