Here is Wes having fun on his XR250. Wes can wheelie from here to Timbukto. He once got suspended from school because he wheelied his Honda 160 dirt bike right next to the School Bus window of his new girlfriend. All the kids in the bus rushed to that side and were cheering him on. He got the girl, but it cost him.
Wes's dad had a big shop in their backyard filled with an Interstate plane he was restoring, dune buggies and lots of dirt bikes. We would ride our dirt bikes sidesaddle ( if we saw a cop, which did happen, we would quickly jump off and be pushing our bikes along the side of the road) down a pretty busy road for a quarter mile and then up a dirt road that led to this mountain top Dairy that was huge and fun. We wore bikes out riding them here. It is in N.E. Portland ,OR
Yours truly, not only riding his awesome Honda but also wearing his helmet and gloves. I cannot remember the circumstances but from the clothes I am wearing, I wasn't riding my dirt bike and to get up there was a challenging hillclimb (which kept most guys out of the place) Memories fade but photos keep some of the good times coming back.
The mighty XR250 R. This is one great dirt machine. It did everything well. I remember it being so soft to ride on those big forks and long shocks. The motor was magic and it handled faultlessly.
