Harley-Davidson XR 750 Winners

Here are two guys who know a thing or two about racing XR750s. Dave Zanotti , on the right and Tony Dodge. Dave won the National Championship with Jake Johnson in both 2010 and 2011. That is quite an accomplishment achieved with his super strong and reliable XRs. Since those days, Dave steered towards Kawasakis but, he was really the last of the winning Harley teams to do so. It paid off with him being the most successful in defeating the onslaught of the Racing Redskins in 2017. It also helps that he is partnered with the inventor of the Kawasaki Revolution, the great, the one and only, tuning guru Bill Werner, the winningest tuner in Flat Track history. So add two Grand National wins to Werners tuning record with Briar Baumans incredible rides to win on the #14 Zanotti Kawasaki. Werner has his own Team with Briar's younger brother Bronson twisting the throttle. They have not won yet but Bronson could be every bit as good as his older bro and has the same motors so, I only think it is a matter of time before he joins the list of Indian Slayers.
Meanwhile, Dave's incredible Harleys sit idle and they will probably stay that way but, the thought of having them in the mix with a satellite team (with a lot of $$$$) makes me smile wide.

Tony Dodge won the National Championship in 2013 with the incredible, young Brad Baker at the bars. It went right down to the last race and Brad showed the maturity and the skill to just pull it off, making it an ever so sweet victory for all concerned. Tony's dad was noted Indian racer in the classic era and got his four boys involved in the sport where they learned the love of the game. The Team, Dodge Brothers Racing only followed the complete National Circuit for the first time in 2013, because they had faith in Brad and it obviously paid off. Tony is dyed Orange and Black and with the new alluring contingency money from Harley, I hope The Dodge Bros are pondering a full assault of the 2018 Series. All they need is one hell of a racer and there are a few of those around. Go with a past Pro with years of experience who can actually appreciate and use the championship winning potential in the bikes. Or go with one of the talented young guns of whom there are a limited few, that realistically could get the job done and then assume the risks involved. As fans we would really would love to see a whole bunch of XRs repelling the Indian attack and we need a good ol' John Wayne type rider, tearing it up and kicking some Indian tail feathers.
