Wacky Winged Racer - 1971 Lola T260 Can Am

In the early 70's Jackie Stewart was the poster boy for race car drivers. Almost as famous for his comparison of making love to a woman and race care driving , to his winning F1 ways in the Elf Tyrells. Carl Haas hired him to drive his new Lola to hopefully beat the McLarens. The car handled so badly, they thought a huge front wing stuck way out there might help. It didn't. Even the Wee Scotsman couldn't make the 750 HP , 500 cu in monster competitive. It was the first and last race car to entertain the giant front wing.
