The Douglas SBD Dauntless won the Battle of Midway six months after the Pearl Harbor sucker punch. The SBD decimated the Japanese Navy and Japan was on the defensive from Midway to the end of WWII. This fine example hangs at Midway International Airport, Chicago. This turning point in the war saved Australia from Japanese invasion.
