1970 Triumph ruled the Drags.

Larry Welch on the Routt Triumph Double battles Triumphs main threat, Joe Smith on his 102-inch H.D.
Larry Welch and the twin 51-inch Triumph built by Triumph Tuner Guru Sonny Routt.
Pre heating the M&H. Unfortunately a slide stuck open ( you can see it ) and poured 98% nitro on the track and they were disqualified from the meet.
 Larry Welch wins another one
In 1970, Triumph's Drag King, Boris Murray on his self built and tuned double that ruled with a quickest 9.03 and fastest 170.13. no telling how fast they could have gone if they didn't smoke the hyde all the way down the strip.
