Shell Thuet R.I.P.

Shell Thuet, one of Flat Tracks Finest, passed away 7/8/11. Shell was nearing his 98th birthday and had a full and accomplished life that was in a big part centered around Dirt Track motorcycles. He first gained recognition as an Indian Tuner in the 50's followed by a dominating period with his Royal Enfields in the 60's. Shell pioneered the development of the Yamaha 650 into the Championship winning machine in the 70's.
Shell was a first class Gentleman and a Mentor to many famous and not so famous racers. He will be sorely missed. Those Yamaha parallel twins are going to sound awesome rippin' around Heaven's Half Mile.
