Pete Hames ,always a crowd favorite at Ascot was riding at Pomona. There were a number of guys I had not seen race in years ,out at the Pacific Coast Nationals. Pete always rode first class equipment and was a contender every time he lined up. The first photo I took in the early 80's at Ascot and here he is ready to roll on a Dodge Bros XR in the open class on Pomona's cushion oval.
